The stages of development of houses in the UAE start with the tent "Beit Al Sha’ar", passing through house of Al-Arish then the mud houses and after that the gravel stone houses and finally, the modern concrete houses. Tents were mostly in the desert owned by Bedouins while the urban people were living near the coast. In the city they had two different kinds of houses, winter houses and summer houses.  The old houses in the UAE were quite simple and were free from the elements that are used nowadays. Those houses were the role of our grandparents, including details of their daily lives, and the canvas walls or fronds wall hid joys and sorrows over time they spent under the harsh living conditions.
